At Sprockets here in Aylesham Kent, we provide a comprehensive range of servicing and repairs for all types of bicycles, from our fully equipped workshop. Whether it is to fix a puncture or undertake a complete bike build, please get in touch to see how we can help you.

As a former professional bike racer, (who still competes in Mountain bike and cyclocross) Paul Hudson has over 30 years’ experience bike maintenance, repair, builds and re-builds.

In some circumstances Sprockets can offer a Local bike ‘pick-up’ and ‘return’ service, please call to discuss

Below is an outline of pricing on our package servicing and single jobs including VAT at the current rate. The list is not exhaustive, any job that is not shown below we will be more than happy to quote for before any work is carried out.

Sprockets ‘Standard’ Service - £35
Sprockets ‘Expert Service’ - £55
Sprockets ‘The Full Works’ Service - £75

*Parts and accessories (Cables, Cassettes, Chains etc) are not included in Sprockets service charges and will be quoted for before carrying out any work.

Sprockets Standard Service - £35

The Sprockets Standard Service is suitable for used bikes that do not require a more comprehensive check (or bikes that are fairly new or that are used less frequently). This service is ideal before an event or race. 

•     Brakes checked for correct operation and pad wear
•     Bolts checked and tightened including crank bolts
•     Gears checked for correct indexing and chain lubricated
•     Pedals greased and tightened
•     Tyres checked for wear and damage and inflated to the correct pressure
•     Visual assessment for major problems
•     Wipe down frame and visually check for damage, cracks and mis-alignment

Sprockets Expert Service - £55

The Sprockets Expert Service is probably our most popular service. For all bikes in regular use with around 6-9 months of use since their last service. Also suitable as an annual service for bikes with moderate use. 

•     Brakes checked for correct operation and pad wear
•     Bolts checked and tightened including crank bolts
•     Check all cables and outers for wear or damage
•     Check and adjust headset
•     Check the chain, cassette, chainset, front and rear derailleurs for wear and corrosion
•     Check bottom bracket for signs of wear
•     Gears checked for correct indexing and chain lubricated
•     Pedals greased and tightened
•     Tyres checked for wear and damage and inflated to the correct pressure
•     Wipe down frame and visually check for damage, cracks and mis-alignment

Sprockets Full Works Service - £75

Sprockets Full Works Service is the most comprehensive service. The bike is fully stripped down and re-built. We recommend as an annual service for any bike in regular to heavy use. 

•     Bolts checked and tightened including crank bolts
•     Brakes checked for correct operation and pad wear and replace where necessary
•     Gears checked for correct indexing and chain lubricated
•     Forks removed and headset stripped, re-greased and adjusted
•     Remove, degrease, check, re-lubricate and re-fit the chainset, chain, cassette front and rear derailleurs
•     Remove, check, lubricate and re-fit the bottom bracket
•     Pedals greased and tightened
•     Remove the wheels - check spoke tension and true-up
•     Replace all cabling inner and outers
•     Re-tap the bottom bracket threads and re-face the shell if required
•     Seat post removed and lubricated
•     Strip down, re-grease and adjust both hubs
•     Tyres checked for wear and damage and inflated to the correct pressure
•     Visual assessment for major problems
•     Wipe down frame and visually check for damage, cracks and mis-alignment
