When you have a passion for cycling as we do at Lake, it translates to a life long passion. It’s in our blood, we are devoted to cycling. We have spent hours riding in the trenches, enduring the pain and have graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks. We have studied the shape of thousands of feet pedaling billions of circles. Designed and proven to be the most comfortable shoe in the peloton. You will not want to replace your worn out shoes, we hope you’ll want to just buy another pair from Lake.
Born in Evanston Illinois in 1982, Lake quickly became a household name for cycling shoes. As the sport grew in North America, so did the versatility and demand for more styles. The MXZ303 (winter boot) was created because of a very cold climate that hit Lake’s headquarters every year, the shores of Lake Michigan, where temperatures are quite possibly the coldest in North America. Many other innovative designs have come from Lake’s shoe collections over the years. More recently Lake was the first to design and produce the MX 331 Cyclocross specific model and today it remains the “holy grail” of cyclocross shoes.

How to get basic foot measurement :
PLEASE NOTE: This size chart is for reference and for best fit, trial and error fitting may be necessary for proper comfort. Perfect sizing through online 2 dimension sizing is not guaranteed. Shoe sizing is not a perfect science as we all have unique foot dimensions. These variables in foot shape are individual to each of us and may require sizing up or to a wider shoe. In some cases that are not easily measured without having in-person interaction.
Take your foot measurement In a seated position while wearing your cycling socks.
Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper. After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides as shown below.
Step 2: Length measurement (Points 1 to 2 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
Step 3: Width measurement (Points 3 to 4 as shown below). Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
Step 4: Repeat steps for other foot as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
Please Note: for accurate measurement please obtain a 3 digit millimeter measurement.
example: 267mm or 26.7cm will provide the correct amount of data.
Accurate measurements cannot be obtained from only 2 digits.
example: 26cm does not provide enough data to determine size.
Add 5mm to your actual length measurement to get recommended size, it is not necessary to add any additional mm to your measured width.
