Our first real E-MTB specialist for All Mountain and Enduro. It allows uncompromising riding even uphill, takes fierce acceleration as well as technical riding on the trails. Its solid appearance comes from the stable blocks, more rubber and the big widths. The concept with 29" inch front wheel size and 27.5" rear wheel size provides maximum performance. Profile design: Specially adapted tread design for front and rear wheel (Front and Rear). Blocks up to 20% more massive than other Enduro/All Mountain profiles. Aggressive arrangement, open design and concise V-Grooves in the center and side blocks for direct, precise steering characteristics and perfect transmission of engine power to the ground, with extreme durability. 

Super Gravity version: For EDDY CURRENT FRONT and REAR with ADDIX Soft (orange). Extremely stable and puncture-proof yet very dynamic handling. 

On an e-bike, regardless of whether it’s a city bike, trekking bike or e-MTB, you’re travelling at higher speed. The weight is considerably higher compared to an ordinary bike because of the motor and battery. And a flat tire on an e-bike is particularly annoying because its repair is usually more complex.

"Eddy Current" is the name of Schwalbe's first tire specifically developed for the E-MTB - for All Mountain, Enduro and Gravity. Front 29 x 2.4 inches, rear 27.5 x 2.8 inches is the perfect combination. The two tire sizes combine their attributes as part of a coherent overall concept. The blocks are about 20 percent larger than on the Magic Mary, for example. This results in greater stability, more traction and longer durability.

Rear Eddy Current Rear tires dig deep into the ground when you brake and converts the full power of the motor into propulsion during acceleration. The large footprint of the 2.8-inch-wide tire and the sturdy center blocks provide the necessary traction.

Formula & Raw Materials

Every rubber compound is made up of natural and synthetic rubbers - along with many other solid and liquid ingredients. Carbon black, silica, silanes, oils, sulphur anti-oxidants to name just a few... The quality of all these raw materials determines whether a tyre will be outstanding or just mediocre. There are countless options for selecting, combining and measuring them, so a good formula requires highly specialised expertise, high-quality raw materials and extrensive testing - it goes without saying that the final recipe is top secret.

It replaces the previous PaceStar compound where a significant, though not the only difference, during extensive use is more mileage and a longer life. 

ADDIX SPEED is the compound for XC race specialists. It catapults our XC tires into a new performance dimension.  

ADDIX SOFT is a compound that bridges many disciplines. It’s just as at home in the enduro and downhill world as it is in the demanding discipline of all-mountain and trail riding. It also impresses when used in combination with other ADDIX tires – more speed: Soft on the front, Speedgrip on the back. Or more damping: Ultra Soft on the front, Soft on the back.

ADDIX ULTRA SOFT is the ADDIX compound for hardcore use in enduro and downhill. Sensationally good damping has been further improved over the previous VertStar compound, while at the same time ADDIX Ultrasoft is suitable for all-weather use due to significantly improved low-temperature properties when it comes to grip and damping.
