Shimano ST A070 STI Double 7 Speed Shifters

Reluctant to discard an older bike with 7-speed (Suntour, no longer available!) gears, I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to more modern shifters. The groupset is good quality and has covered thousands of miles with very little wear, and still runs perfectly. Shimano indexed downtube shifters worked fine, as the gears are on the same pitch (7mm) as 7/8 speed Shimano gearing. These new shifters worked absolutely brilliantly with the Suntour gears at the back (fitted with a Sora rear mech, Suntour mech does not work well with shimano shifters) and also shifts the front mech (Campag) flawlessly. Easy to fit and set up, and at a reasonable price, I can highly recommend these shifters for anyone with an older 7/14 speed bike they would like to upgrade. Ride on! Si.

I ordered these shifters to upgrade my handle bar mounted levers on my 14 speed road bike. They were easy to fit and now my gear changes are much smoother and easier and i do not have to move my hands from the bars to change gears. Excellent upgrade as there are not many 14 speed STI shifters available. Only criticism is that the lever to change up on the inside of the brake is a little awkward to reach sometimes as i have quite small hands.

Ordered these to upgrade a road bike with handlebar mounted shifters. They came with a full set of cables, including outers. Very easy to install, shift smoothly and have brilliant braking power and modulation. Highly recommended if you want to upgrade from downtube shifters!
